Google Search Console and GA4

GSC explains how people find you and GA4 helps explain what happens after the visit. Together they add context to SEO decisions.

Connect Search Console

Start the connection from the project and authorize the Google account that can access the property. Check that protocol, subdomain and prefix match the configured URL.

Serplenty can use queries, clicks, impressions, positions and pages to build reports and opportunities.

Connect GA4

Connect the Analytics property for the same site. When more than one property exists, validate the ID and domain before selecting it.

GA4 provides sessions and conversions when measurement and events are configured correctly. Do not interpret a missing conversion as an SEO issue without checking measurement first.

Initial synchronization

After authorizing Google, let the initial load finish. If the dashboard is empty, check the last sync, selected property and permissions first.

Differences between GSC and GA4 are normal: their windows, attribution and definitions differ. Use each source for the question it can answer.

  • GSC: search demand and visibility.
  • GA4: behavior and conversions.
  • Serplenty: shared context for prioritizing actions.

Interpretation best practices

Compare equivalent periods, segment by country or device when relevant and open the page behind the metric. An aggregate decline can hide a specific content, coverage or intent opportunity.

Permissions.

If Google does not show a property, the cause is usually the authorized account, property type or exact URL match.
